Palmerton Area School District's website has a new look.

Dan Heaney, director of technology, said the district opted for the switch because the old website was outdated and in need of change."An update to our website is something we have been planning on completing for quite a while, but we didn't want to rush anything," Heaney said. "We wanted to make sure we could include all the areas we felt we needed, and we also wanted to keep the creation of the site in house in an effort to save money."Heaney said he believes the new appearance "has a much cleaner home page and has a much nicer look overall than what we previously had."One of the goals, Heaney said, was to make the website more "user-friendly.""We wanted to make finding information easier," he said. "The resource pages are right up front, and searching the site itself can be done right from the home screen."Heaney said the old site had been in operation for quite some time, and added it was in need of an upgrade.He said the site was created by Rob Moyzan, the district's network engineer.The new web page can be viewed on the district's website,
