It was a rough night on the hardwoods for local basketball teams as the lone winner was the Panther Valley girls, who played a non-league game against Lincoln Leadership Academy.

So. Lehigh-Northwestern

Trailing by one point after the first eight minutes, Southern Lehigh seized control of the game in the second quarter and never looked back, as the Spartans posted a 48-40 Colonial League victory over Northwestern.

Alex Anderson led Southern Lehigh with a game-high 24 points, including three three-pointers. Chris Mobley also tacked on 12 for the Spartans.

For Northwestern (2-10), Matt Rivera and Naveed Hadian scored 11 and 10 points respectively.

Notre Dame-Palmerton

The Crusaders opened up a 15-point lead by halftime and went on to down the Blue Bombers 81-43 in a Colonial League matchup.

The Bombers managed to score just 16 points in the second half and fell to 1-9 overall on the season.

Alex Gregg finished with 15 points for the Crusaders, while Tanner Reed and Connor Hughes each added 10. Matt Leaver was high scorer for Palmerton with 12 points.

Minersville used clutch free throw shooting down the stretch to post a 68-63 overtime victory over Marian.

The Battlin' Miners connected on 8-of-10 free throws in the extra session, while the Colts were 0-4 from the chartity stripe in overtime.

Minersville placed four players in double figures and was led by Isaac Melochick's 20 points. Cole Weachock added 13, while Evan Hollen and Jake Kopintez scored 12 points apiece.

For Marian (4-8), Ryan Karnish was deadly from long range, as the junior buried seven three pointers and scored a game-high 25 points. Alden Whah scored 11 points and hauled in 11 rebounds for the Colts.

In the JV game, Marian was a 48-47 winner.

Blue Mountain rallied for a 39-17 Schuylkill League Division 1 victory over Panther Valley.

The Panthers (4-7) led 14-9 at halftime, but completely collapsed in the second half. Panther Valley's only field goal in the second half was a Zack King three-pointer with 1:30 left in the game. The Panthers shot 1-for-20 from the floor in the second half.

Nate Yost led Blue Mountain with eight points.

Thad Ogozalek, Nate Mathewson and Brock Mitchell had four points apiece for the Panthers.

Owen Daniel had a game-high 19 points for the Vikings (8-2, 4-1), while teammate Brendan Miller finished with 15 points, scoring seven in a 20-point first quarter. Josh Reiner's 12 points lead the Wreckers (2-7, 0-5).

Panther Valley's Abbey Whildin led four double-digit scorers with a game-high 15 points, while Sam Zlock scored 10 of her 14 points in the second quarter. Madison Blasko and Trayvonda Rice also tallied 12 points apiece for the Panthers (6-5).

In the JV game, Panther Valley posted a 50-21 victory.
