Jim Thorpe police reported the arrest of a Saylorsburg resident for driving under the influence (DUI).

Police said about 12:02 a.m. on Dec. 9 they were dispatched to the area of SR903 and W. Front St. for a one-vehicle crash. On scene police observed a Mitsubishi sedan on the roadway with severe front end damage. An investigation revealed the vehicle had struck a parked vehicle in the area of 47 W. Front St.

The driver was identified as Linda-Jeanne Elsaesser, 54, of 215 Anchorage Rd. She displayed signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest for DUI. She was transported to the Lehighton hospital where she submitted to a blood test. The test revealed a .13BAC.

She was charged with two counts of DUI and a summary motor vehicle code offense of careless driving. Officer Robert Carelli made the arrest.
