Franklin Township supervisors met for the first meeting of the year on Tuesday, immediately following the reorganizational meeting for 2012.

As part of the meeting, supervisors approved the final subdivision plans, pending approval by the township's planning committee, to allow Marvin J. and Christine Grace Barry to cut 11 acres from a 71-acre parcel in Franklin Township so that the larger parcel will be placed in farmland preservation.

The board also adopted a professional services agreement with ARRO Consulting, Inc.

The board voted to advertise for bids for 10,000 gallons of low sulfur diesel, 6,000 gallons heating oil and 10,000 gallons 87 octane no lead gasoline. Bids will be opened at the Feb. 21 meeting.

The board approved Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Co. 2012 activity list for workers' compensation insurance coverage.
