State police at Lehighton reported on driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers recently, all stemming from crashes.

Troopers said about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, Danall Greenzweig, 27, of Summit Hill, was operating a 2006 Subaru Outback southbound on SR115, near Mountain Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County, when the vehicle left the road for unknown reasons. Greenzweig and his passenger, Diane Strohl, 48, of Saylorsburg, both sustained moderate injuries, troopers said.

Troopers added that alcohol was a factor in the crash and the investigation is ongoing with charges pending.

A crash occurred about 3:01 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1, along SR209 at Trach Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Andrew C. Matlock, 18, of Gilbert, was operating a Chevrolet Cavalier southbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control. The car traveled across the northbound lane and struck a dirt mound along the berm. The car then rolled over and came to rest on its roof facing west.

Troopers said Matlock was found to be under the influence and was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.

Troopers said about 2:02 p.m. on Sunday, troopers were dispatched to a crash in the area of 365 Lower Greenhill Road, in Polk Township. Troopers said a vehicle operated by Heather Dawn York, 27, of Effort, had struck a sign and crashed into a shed. She was found to be under the influence.

The DUI count is pending test results, troopers added.
