There's lots happening at the Palmerton Area Library for folks of all ages.

There will be a Book Signing with local author, John Janson, of his new book, "Titanic A Second Chance" on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 12-3 p.m.

For children there is:

*Preschool Story Hour every Friday at 10:30 a.m. It is free and open to the public.

*Tail Waggin' Tutors for kids to read to dogs the second Saturday of each month from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. It is free but parents must preregister for a time slot by calling the library at 610-826-3424.

*Watercolor painting classes are offered two days a week. Call the teacher at 610-824-4962 for more information.

*Homework Helpers is every Wednesday from 3-4:30 p.m. Volunteer tutors will help your child with his/her homework and other assignments. It is free but parents must register each child.

*Teen Advisory Group is for teens in grades 7-12. New members are always welcome. Call the library and ask for Mariann for details.

Activities for all include:

*Knitting Club meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 6-8pm. It is free and open to anyone interested in knitting and crocheting of all skill levels.

*Third Monday Book Club meets the third Monday of each month at 12-1 p.m. and discusses a different book each month. On March 19 the book will be "Sarah's Key" by Tatiana de Rosnay. New members are welcome.

*Yoga Classes are offered every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Call the teacher at 570-436-1762 for more information or stop in on Saturday morning.

*Spring computer classes for Beginner, Intermediate and Digital Camera Classes starting April 12 at 5 p.m. Class size is limited so call now to register.

*There are used books and movies for sale. The Palmerton Area Library basement booksale is open regular library hours. New books arrive on a weekly basis as well as movies, puzzles and CD's. Priced to sell. Volunteers are always needed to sort and place books on shelves.

*There is a Volunteer Program to help the library. Ask at the desk for a volunteer packet and sign up to help shelve books, work in the book sale, decorate the display window, adopt a shelf or help with children's activities.
