A fire that caused damage to a Schuylkill County home has been ruled arson.

State police at Frackville said a fire was discovered about 11:25 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, on the back porch at 412 Washington St., in Auburn. Firefighters were able to confine the damage to the porch. The home is presently unoccupied and was the home of the late Roxanne Katz.

This is the second arson fire in Auburn since Feb. 2, troopers said. A fire occurred on that date at Sixth and Pear Alley and destroyed a garage.

Anyone with information concerning either fire is asked to call troopers at (570) 874-5300.
