Panther Valley board cuts coaching salaries

The Panther Valley school board on Thursday cut the base salaries of two assistant baseball and softball coaches from $1,800 to $1,600 and from $1,600 to $1,300, respectively.

In a related move, the board approved softball coach Jill Zwiesdak's stipend transferred from $1,800 to $1,650; and Ray Trevorah at $1,300. The board approved Michelle Markovich as a track and field coach from $1,500 to unpaid assistant. Markovich is also a school director. It also approved a change in Jason Harrison's status from paid assistant track and field coach to volunteer.The board approved track and field coaches Frank Damian and Pat Crampsie's stipends at $1,500 a year.Further, the board approved renovations to the track and field facility, not to exceed $4,500.The board also approved the following fall athletic coaches without salaries: Football: Lon Hazlet, Paul McArdle, Ben Tkach, Matt Davis, Broc Hazlet, John Ruzicka, and Ryan Fritzinger. Volleyball: Nancy Filer, LouAnn Brida and Johnna Yurko. Cheerleading: Hallie Seiwell, Heidi Seiwell and Amber Vachon.The following people were appointed as spring sports workers at $25 per event: Keith Gogal, Mary Louise Gauronsky, Melanie Gilbert, Rich Gilbert, David Spence, Ted Gauronsky, Ann Marie Williams, John Williams, Jon Williams, John Horvath, Ed Kocha, Roman Barran, Greg Gauronsky, Josh Wank, George Mitzen, Patrick Crampsie, Jen Jones, Kerry Jones, William Lynn, Adrienne Bonner, Candice Gimbor, Charley DePuy, Mark Lavine and Terry Bonner.
