State police at the Fracksville barracks are investigating the cause of a fire that happened on Feb. 2 around midnight in Auburn Borough, destroying a garage and causing damages that police said are in excess of $25,000.
The fire happened at the rear of 434 Market St. at a garage owned by Douglas Naftzinger and occupied by a Harold Miller.
Police said the Auburn Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at the above location and upon arrival encountered a wood-frame garage ablaze. The garage and its contents were destroyed.
Polices said an investigation into the origin and cause of the fire revealed the fire was intentionally started.
No injuries were reported.
