A woman was seriously injured Friday morning after losing control of her vehicle while traveling south on Route 209 in Summit Hill. The crash occurred at 11 a.m. as the driver was descending the south side of Bugzie's mountain. The unit crossed the roadway entering the east berm where it impacted with a tree rolling onto its roof. The victim was extricated from the wreckage by members of the Diligence Fire Company, Summit Hill, and the Lansford Fire Department. She was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics. Summit Hill fire police maintained traffic control at the scene. Summit Hill police are investigating the incident.
