For the sixth consecutive year, Nesquehoning McDonalds along with Meed's Methodist Church have partnered with generous residents from the Panther Valley area to once again operate the Angel Tree. The Angel Tree ministry helps to make Christmas just a little bit brighter for area children who might not otherwise receive any presents on Christmas morning. Bertha Shreffler of Meed's appeared overjoyed as she sorted through all of the toys, clothing, diapers and gift cards that were donated to the approximately 34 children enrolled in this year's Angel Tree. Standing with all of the donated items are from left Todd Sheckler, McDonald's general store manager; Dorothy Gulla, shift manager; and Bertha Shreffler.
