On Sunday, The South Ward Playground will be holding it's annual Christmas Extravaganza, visit with Santa and park lighting.

The event, which starts at 6 p.m., is free to everyone.

People are encouraged to bring a donation of a canned item or non-perishable food for the local food bank.

The playground is decorated with lighted blow ups, figures and tens of thousands of lights.

This event will include face painting, baked goods, hot cocoa, popcorn, cotton candy and lots of presents given away in a free ticket raffle. Six of the presents to be raffled are bikes.

There will also be Christmas carols by the fire via the Chorus of the Bethany Evangelical Church.

Organizer Justin Startzel stated the first 250 children will receive a treat from Santa, but there will still be plenty of fun and food for all that wish to attend. For more information, call (570) 668-2813.
