The engagement of Kristin Lynn Maurer to Joshua Aaron Britton, both of Conshocken, has been announced by her parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of John and Nina Maurer of Nesquehoning. She is a 1999 graduate of Panther Valley High School.She graduated from Shippensburg University in 2003 with a bachelor of arts degree in English literature. She is currently employed as a medical editor at The National Board of Medical Examiners in Philadelphia.The prospective bridegroom is the son of Cindy Nearhoof Britton and the late Randall Britton of Osceola Mills, Pa.He holds a bachelor of arts degree in history from York College of Pennsylvania, from which he graduated in 2003.He earned a master of arts in history from Duquesne University in 2005, and is currently a PhD. candidate in American history at Lehigh University.He expects to graduate in May 2013. He is currently a dissertation fellow at Lehigh University.A wedding is planned for June 8, 2013.
