A Tamaqua man and two New Ringgold men were among 20 defendants who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by President Judge William E. Baldwin.

Robert Stackhouse, 30, of 22 E. Union St., Tamaqua, passing a bad check, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund and make restitution of $650, which represented the monthly rent for an apartment at 104 Schuylkill Ave. The payment to be made to H.P. Tamaqua, LLC, formerly the Elwood Apartments. Stackhouse was cited by Patrolman Matthew Houser, last Feb. 10.

Robert D. Rotskie, 55, of 353 Mush Dahl Road, Apt. 3, New Ringgold, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, sentenced to serve six months on probation in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP), fined $1,000, pay $300 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, attend alcohol highway safety school, complete outpatient substance abuse treatment, perform 20 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 12 months.

On a summary charge of violating a traffic lane was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Rotskie was cited by Trooper James C. Nestico when investigating a one car accident on SR895 east of Church Lane in West Brunswick Township. The car went over an embankment.

Harry Joseph Zaprazny, 43, of 2435 Summer Valley Road, New Ringgold, possession of a small amount of marijuana, was placed on probation 30 days, pay $100 to SAE fund, and $50 to CJEA. Zaprazny was cited by Trooper Michael S. Allar last March 28.

Justin Wade Miller, 28, Pottsville, DUI of alcohol, sentenced to serve 30 days in the county prison beginning Jan. 4, 2013, followed by four years and 11 months on probation in the IPP, fined $1,500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, attend safety school, complete outpatient substance abuse treatment, perform 40 hours community service, pay $460 to Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC), driver's license suspended 18 months, and for first 12 months must have a n ignition interlock device on the wheel of his car to monitor if the driver has an alcohol in his system. Miller was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Paul R Olson, last May 8.

Jason L. Mace, 26, Hegins, Hegins Township, DUI of alcohol, serve 30 days in the county prison beginning Jan. 4, 2013, followed by four years and 11 months on probation in the IPP, fined $1,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to SCM, perform 20 hours community service, driver's license suspended 18 months, and install ignition interlock on car for 12 months. On a summary charge of traffic lane violation was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Mace was cited by Hegins Township Patrolman Francis Petrovich, last Sept. 11 in Valley View.

Christopher Michael Romberger, 24 Tower City, entered a plea of nolo contendre (no defense) to charges of indecent exposure, two counts each of corruption of minors and indecent assault, conduct relating to sex offenders by failing to file information and possessing obscene and other sexual material.

Sentence was deferred to a later date so that he can be evaluated by the state's sexual offenders assessment board. He was cited by Trooper John Sleboda.

Heather Nicole Scipioni, 36, Myerstown, Lebanon County, retail theft from Beer Mountain Distributors in Pine Grove Township on Dec. 7, 2011, fined $200 and costs and make restitution of $40 belonging to Matthew Brandt which was taken off the counter.

Robert Clair Miller, 35, Tower City, unauthorized use of car belonging to Crystal Michaels, sentenced to serve two weeks to 23 months in the county prison beginning Friday, Jan. 4, 2013. On a charge of driving while license suspended to serve an additional 30 days in prison and pay fines totaling $400. Miller was cited by Trooper Jeffrey Hummel last Jan. 16 when stopped on Sweet Arrow Lake Road in Pine Grove Township.

Victor Manuel Rivera, 44, Middletown, DUI of drugs, serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison beginning Friday, Dec. 14, fined $1,000, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, attend safety school, received outpatient counseling, pay $551 to NMS Lab, and perform 10 hours community service. Rivera was cited by Trooper Michael Crane last March 28 when stopped on SR209 in Tower City.

Gurney Ray Wolff Jr., 34, Tremont, DUI of alcohol, serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison beginning Monday, Dec. 17, at 9 a.m., fined $1,000, pay $1,000 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to SMC, perform 20 hours of community service, and submit to screenings. On a summary charge of traffic lane violation was fined $25 plus $50.

John J. Mayersky, 37, Tower City, DUI of alcohol, serve 48 hours to six months in the county prison, fined $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, perform 40 hours community service, make restitution of $480.46 to Natalie Neyer, $167,330.26 to Joshua Bordner, and $11,123.15 to State Farm Insurance Company.

On summary charges of traffic lane violation and failing to drive at safe speed was fined $50 plus $100 costs. Mayersky was cited by Trooper Thomas Hornung last Jan. 12 on Third Street, Tower City.

Andrew Jacob Kovalcik, 28, Frackville, DUI of alcohol, serve 48 hours to six months in the county prison beginning Sunday, Dec. 23, at 9 a.m., fined $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, attend safety school, and perform 10 hours community service. On a charge of disorderly conduct serve an additional six months on probation.

Kovalick was cited by Chief Shawn Tray, West Mahanoy Township Police, last April 27.

Fallon W. Kukuk, 23, Muir, Porter Township, DUI of drugs, serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison, fined $1,000, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, receive outpatient treatment, and perform 10 hours community service.

On a charge of possession of a controlled substance was fined $200 and serve an additional 12 months on probation and on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia placed on probation 12 months to run concurrent with the other sentences. On a summary charge of disregarding flashing lights at a four way intersection and failed to stop as required was fined $25 and $50 costs. Kukuk was cited by Pine Grove Officer Mark Vandermaretin, last Feb. 11.

William E. Coward, 42, Ashland, altering or forging documents pertaining to his vehicle, placed on probation 12 months, and pay $50 to CJEA fund. On a charge for failing to wear his seat belt was fined $10 plus $50 costs. Coward was cited by Frackville Patrolman Anthony Kankowski, last April 5.

Joseph D. Ryan, 46, Pine Grove, giving a false name to police was placed on probation 12 months, fined $100, and serve 15 hours community service. On a charge of driving without a license was fined $200 plus $50 costs. Ryan was cited by Pine Grove Patrolman Christopher Taylor, last May 15.

Jeremiah Mark Klinger, 31, Tremont, two counts of receiving stolen scrap metal, placed on probation18 months, and pay $100 to CJEA fund. Klinger was cited by Trooper Chad Smith on Sept. 28, 2011.

Donald George Ignjatovic, 21, Shenandoah, retail theft from Boyer's Supermarket, Shenandoah, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and make restitution of $365.73 to the market. Ignjatovic was cited by Capt. George Caradsa, last May 23.

Jenna M. Gradwell, 28, Gordon, theft of credit card, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and make restitution of $2,653.48 to Debra Klinger, of Gordon. Gradwell was cited by Butler Township Patrolman Shawn Butler, last March 10.

Matthew Robert Oshman, 23, Mount Carmel, criminal trespass, was given credit for serving 19 days in the county prison and released on parole for 23 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and additional costs of $1,500 to state police.

On a charge of theft of personal property belonging to Randy Rothernmel, Upper Mahantongo Township, was fined $100 and serve 12 months on probation to run concurrent to the other sentence. Oshman was cited by Trooper Mark Knock on Sept. 9, 2009.

Wayne Allen Kimmel Jr., 21, Donaldson, Tremont Township, recklessly endangering another person by fleeing police, was placed on probation 12 months, fined $200, pay $50 to CJEA fund, perform 30 hours of community service.

On charges of driving an unregistered car was fined $75, failing to display license plate, $25; failing to drive at safe speed, $25; careless driving, $25; driving at night without lights to avoid identification, having improper lighting, $25; and having an open container of alcohol beverage in his car, $25 plus $350 in costs. Kimmel was cited by Trooper John Carr last Jan. 6.

On a charge of theft of equipment from an abandoned mine was sentenced to serve three to 23 months in the county prison beginning Saturday, Jan. 5, at 6 p.m., fined $100 and make restitution of $25,000 to Kenneth Richter, owner of the mine off SR25 in Tremont Township.

Each defendant sentenced must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
