The driver of a pickup truck escaped injury Tuesday morning when he lost control of the unit and drove down a steep embankment at the west entrance to the bridge which carries SR873 over the Lehigh River. The incident was first reported just after 8:30 a.m. First reports were the truck had gone off the bridge. The truck just missed the bridge abutment and traveled down the embankment impacting with a tree, which stopped it from landing on a trail below. State police are investigating the incident.
