Members of the Tamaqua Volunteers group are looking for donations of clothing, toys, tools, appliances, furniture and anything else that could help a needy family in Tamaqua.

Any type of useable, clean donations are greatly appreciated. Volunteers are asking people to drop off all donations this Saturday (Aug. 25) between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. at the storage facility next to Schickram's Car Wash, located on Rose Street in Tamaqua.

Tomorrow's drop-off/giveaway event will be weather dependent. If it is raining Saturday morning, the event will be held Sunday instead.

All items will then be given free to Tamaqua residents via a simple drawing. Any Tamaqua resident wanting to receive donations is encouraged to be there before 9 a.m. for the donation giveaway scheduled for 9:15 a.m.

Organizer Andrew Leibenguth, said, "If all goes well, we will hold this donation event for Tamaqua residents every fourth Saturday of the month." The raindate is Sunday.

For more information message Leibenguth on Facebook or call him at (570) 668-1234. He stressed that anyone can donate and volunteers are needed as well.
