State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways over the past weekend, including a hit-and-run.

A two-vehicle crash occurred about 2:12 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, along SR443 (Suedberg Road), in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Charles Blewis, 67, of Gordon, driving a 2011 Toyota Tundra, was negotiating a left turn onto 443 after stopping for a stop sign. He traveled into the path of a 2004 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Charles W. Ney, 68, of Pine Grove, who was westbound on 443.

The front of the Sonata hit the front driver's side of the Tundra. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Ney sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene. Troopers cited Blewis for stop signs and yield signs.

A hit-and-run accident was reported on Saturday, Aug. 18, about 7:30 p.m. along Schwartz Valley Road, in Wayne Township. Troopers said a vehicle was driven westbound when the driver failed to negotiate a left curve. The vehicle went onto the north berm and struck several mailboxes. After impact the driver fled the scene.
