The East Carbon County Democratic Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21 at Penn Forest Fire Company No. 1, Route 903, Jim Thorpe.

Members are gearing up to work toward getting Democrats elected in November. Of the 51 voting precincts in Carbon County, 36 will be governed by U.S. Congressional District 17, and the remaining 15 precincts will be in the 11th U.S. Congressional District.

Penn Forest and Kidder townships will be among the voters of the 11th district. Members will meet to discuss campaign tactics to encourage a strong, unified vote for their party's candidates.

Members are encouraged to attend and to bring new members.
