A Tamaqua man was charged after police found him to be under the influence.

According to Summit Hill police, on March 25, at 2:27 a.m., officers were on routine patrol when a vehicle approached them and failed to dim its high beams. Officers then observed the vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign and drive off the roadway several times.

A traffic stop was conducted and an investigation revealed that the driver, Matthew Nace, 27, of 116 Center St., was under the influence of alcohol.

He was charged with two counts DUI, stop sign violation, use of multiple beams, and driving on roadways laned for traffic.
