Having so enjoyed the trip to the Northeast Eye Bank, the Western Pocono Lioness Club decided to donate another $200 to the Eye Bank.

On hand to receive that donation was Lion Karl Jones, the Director of Development, of the Northeast PA Lions Eye Bank.Lion Jones presented the club with a video, the newest featuring the work of the eye bank, and explained that with this additional gift, the club has moved into the Director's Circle. In addition to Jones, special guests were Western Pocono Lions Club president, Charles Rush, and his wife, Lion Joanne Rush.He detailed at length what the rules are the clubs must abide by under the Small Games of Chance state legislation. That includes no longer having a 50-50 payout but a 70-30 payout for the distribution of funds raised through the typical evening's event, and, a separate account must be kept for any raffle and reports filed weekly of expenses and intake. The club had a picnic celebration for the start of the meeting and that theme continued as Tail Twister Nancy Beck had everyone involved in a game of charades to identify picnic items. The club discussed the upcoming events including a giant flea market to be held at the Chestnuthill Park Saturday and the Fashion show at Hideaway Hills in September. One of the outreach activities of the club is sending a youth to Monroe County Conservation Camp.
