Schuylkill County crashes investigated

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following crashes probed by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways.

A sport utility vehicle and a tractor with trailer rig crashed at 7:01 a.m. on Tuesday along Geary Wolfe Road in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Tyrone Bronson, 45, of Georgetown, S.C., was driving a 2000 Freightliner rig northbound while Jessica L. Matuella, 25, of Pine Grove, was operating a 2010 Ford Edge southbound.As Bronson was descending a steep mountain grade his rig continued to build speed, and he was unable to slow it down. He entered a curve at a high rate of speed, troopers said, causing his load in the trailer to shift. The cargo from the trailer unit impacted with the Edge causing heavy damage to the entire passenger side.Matuella sustained a minor injury and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Norwegian Street in Pottsville. Bronson was not injured. Troopers cited Bronson for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.A two-vehicle crash was reported at 7:50 a.m. on Wednesday along Route 61 in North Manheim Township at Seven Stars Road.Troopers said Lisa Michelcavage, 47, of Pottsville, was driving a 2014 Toyota Corolla northbound and stopped to make a left turn into the Cressona Mall.Michelcavage began to turn and pulled directly into the path of a southbound 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier operated by Russell C. Lang, 53, of Pottsville, and a collision occurred.No one was injured. Michelcavage was cited for the incident.Troopers investigated a three-vehicle crash at 1:29 p.m. Wednesday along Route 183 in North Manheim Township.Troopers said Arthur Moraco Jr., 83, of Pottsville, was stopped operating a 2006 Pontiac Grand Am GT while Samantha M. Schaeffer, 23, of Pottsville, was southbound driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.Moraco traveled across the southbound lane and his vehicle was struck by Schaeffer's. After impact the Jeep struck the front of a 2003 Hyundai Elantra driven by Tracy L. Willinsky, 49, of Pottsville, who was stopped and exiting the lot of a Burger King restaurant.Moraco and Schaeffer each sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Willinsky and two passengers were not injured.Troopers cited Moraco for the crash.
