The 2012 Carbon County Home, Garden, and Business Expo, a family-oriented event of fun and entertainment, is being held today and Sunday at Memorial Hall in Jim Thorpe. The expo is a family oriented event of fun and entertainment.

The expo, which runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, features 72 home, garden, and business exhibits.

Also featured at the expo will be seminars on different topics.

The seminars include a Mini Split, Air Conditioner/Heat Pump Seminar presented by RF Ohl; Building Comfortable Energy Efficient Homes with Insulating Concrete Forms presented by Awesome View; 'Waiting for Wings', an interactive seminar with live butterflies and caterpillars, presented by Bear Mountain Butterfly Sanctuary; Geothermal Heating, It may be your Best Home Investment, presented by Alex Bodian; Green Building Products and Where to Find Them, presented by Hersh Ruhmel; and Fixing the Energy Holes in Your House, presented by Ken Ashcom.

The admission to the expo is $2 a person. However, guests can receive $1 off admission if they bring a coupon that has been available from local businesses and newspapers. The coupon can also be found on the expo website at www.carboncountyexpo.com.

Guests may also receive another $1 off admission if they bring a non-perishable food item.The non-perishable food items benefit local food banks.
