Luzerne man cited

Tamaqua Patrolman Karl Harig was monitoring traffic Sunday evening, July 21, in the area of the former Maff Motors on East Broad Street (US209) when he clocked a gray Nissan Sentra traveling 41

m.p.h. in a posted 25 zone.Harig initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver of the vehicle as Billy Paul Rogowski, 47, of Laurel Run, Luzerne County. Rogowski admitted he was driving with a suspended license. His wife, who was seated in the passenger side, told the officer she had been driving but switched places when her arm began tiring.A routine records check indicated that Rogowski's license had been suspended for driving under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, Rogowski's vehicle was supposed to be equipped with an ignition interlock system, which the Sentra did not have.Rogowski was cited for operating a vehicle without the required ignition interlock system, driving with a suspended/revoked license, and speeding.
