Spring 2012 brings about a new and exciting change for Naturalist and Outdoor Programmer Becky Cunfer.
This May, Cunfer is excited to be bringing new outdoor educational and recreational opportunities to our local community.
Well known for her nature programs at the Carbon County Environmental Education Center and her leadership with the Nature Start Program and 4-H Wildlife Projects sponsored by the Penn State Cooperative Extension, Becky has directed several environmental day camps and directed programs for diverse community interest groups in Maine, New Hampshire, Montana and Pennsylvania.
Cunfer has always loved the outdoors and for years has shared her passion with others. Becky's mission for Evergrowing Inspirations is to provide programming that will encourage guests to discover nature through interactive learning opportunities and outdoor play.
Her programs will be hosted at Overlook Deer Farm in Lehighton, and will focus on environmental themes including wildlife, ecology, forestry, outdoor survival, conservation, environmental stewardship and earth sciences. Participants can look forward to hiking, arts and crafts, collecting tadpoles, observing wildlife and more.
Evergrowing Inspirations will be featuring a unique program called Walking with Whitetails. In this program, guests will learn about Pennsylvania's white-tail deer. Guided tours will be available for small groups and will provide guests with the opportunity to observe deer in their natural environment.
They will also be able to feed and pet the deer from walkways along the pens. This program is truly one of a kind and is great for all ages.
Evergrowing Inspirations will be celebrating its grand opening on May 5 at Overlook Deer Farm. Special events include Walking with Whitetails, guided tours of the deer farm, outdoor games, nature workshops, arts & crafts, face painting and more.
