William E. Daniels of 66 Broadway, Jim Thorpe, has been arrested by borough police on charges of public drunkenness stemming from two incidents that happened in February and March in the borough.

Police said they were called to the area near Daniels' home at 2:30 a.m. Feb. 15 and observed him lying on the sidewalk. He was transported to the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, by EMS for an evaluation.On March 7 at 1:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the same general area when they again found Daniels lying on his back on the sidewalk. He also suffered a laceration of the left eye. Police said he was transported a second time by EMS to the Lehighton hospital for treatment of the injury.
