The society is also accepting nominees for next year.
Through the society's efforts, a Shade Tree ordinance was enacted by borough council in 1999 and over 400 trees have been planted in the borough since that time. A maintenance and replacement program has also been in place for the new and existing trees in town.
Information on the Shade Tree program can be obtained by contacting Dr. Louis Vermillion, (570) 645-9772, or firstname.lastname@example.org, or John Kupec, 645-9644.
