Drug arrests

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on drug arrests made by officers, one stemming back to September of last year.

Police said on Sept. 1, a traffic stop was made along SR940 in Pocono Summit for an equipment violation. At the stop the two occupants of the vehicle appeared nervous. The two were identified as Patricia Kelly, 57, and Samantha Walter, 22, both of Wilkes-Barre. Kelly consented to a search of her vehicle.Found in the vehicle were 310 psudephedrine sudafed pills and alprazolam tablets. Police learned the sudafed pills were going to be used for a meth lab.Both women were charged with possession of a controlled substance and prohibited acts of manufacture, sale or delivery of a controlled substance.On Feb. 2 about 12:15 a.m. officers made a traffic stop along SR196 at Kings Way in Tobyhanna. The driver was identified as Louis M. Bruno Jr., 24, of East Stroudsburg. Officers noted the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. A consent search was made of the vehicle and found was a marijuana cigarette, a clear baggie containing marijuana residue and a scale containing marijuana residue.Bruno was charged with possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
