Federal health officials say blood lead levels among children who participated in the Palmerton Health Study are a cause for concern, but on average are not above the safety level established by the Center for Disease Control. A spokesman from the Agency for Toxic Substance and Disease Registry said the average level for about 300 children who participated in last year's study is within accepted guidelines.
