A Monroe County man was jailed on Saturday, Sept. 3, for allegedly assaulting two sheriff deputies.

State police at Fern Ridge said Brandon Charles Sargent, 21, of Stroudsburg, was charged with simple assault for an incident that occurred about 8 p.m. at the West End Fairgrounds in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Sargent was being escorted from the fairgrounds by the two deputies when he assaulted them.He was taken into custody and lodge in the county prison in Snydersville pending arraignment.Troopers reported on another incident at the fairgrounds. Troopers said Liza Regina Mousios, 58, of Kunkletown, was cited for disorderly condut for an incident that occurred about 6:20 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4. Troopers said Mousios caused a scene at the fair and needed to be subdued by state constables.
