State police at Lehighton reported on three driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers over the past weekend, all in Carbon County.

On Friday, Oct. 21, about 8:44 a.m. troopers stopped a vehicle along SR209 at Homestead Lane, in Towamensing Township, for several motor vehicle code violations. The driver was identified as Nancy Hides, 45, of Bensalem, Bucks County.

She was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was placed under arrest. The DUI charge is pending blood test results, troopers said.

On Saturday, Oct. 22, about 2:20 p.m. troopers stopped a vehicle along Little Gap Road at Lower Smith Gap Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Suzan Spieker, 31, of Albrightsville. She was found to be under the influence and taken to the barracks for a breath test. Troopers said she will be charged.

Also on Saturday, about 10:34 p.m. troopers stopped a car along SR248 in Franklin Township. The driver was identified as a 17-year-old male from Lehighton. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and illegal drugs were found in the vehicle.
