A Schuylkill County man was jailed over the weekend charged in connection with a domestic assault incident.
State police at Frackville said on Friday, Oct. 14, about 2:30 a.m. at 21 Main St., Middleport, Joseph R. Angst, 45, allegedly assaulted Marie Galuska, 49. He also did not let her leave the residence after the assault.
Troopers said Galuska showed signs of recent physical injuries. When troopers arrived on scene Angst was not there. He was found on Saturday at his place of business and taken into custody. He was arraigned on charges of simple assault and unlawful restraint by on-call District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville unable to post $10,000 cash bail.
