Blue Bombers top Lehighton

Palmerton's soccer team and Lehighton's volleyball team both scored wins over TIMES NEWS area rivals on Monday.

BOYS SOCCERPalmerton-LehightonPalmerton scored a 3-2 non-conference victory over Lehighton.The Indians took a 2-1 halftime lead on goals from Anthony Rossino and Austin Schlosser. Dylan Furry scored the Bombers' lone first half goal.Palmerton's Austin Shupp knotted the game at 2-2 early in the second half before Corey Leonard added the eventual game-winning goal with 25:25 left. Spencer Shigo and Furry earned assists.Codi Sigley and Richard Roselli split time in front of the Bombers' net and combined for 12 saves, while Indian keeper Shane Fordyce ended up with 10 saves.Palmerton moves to 3-13, while Lehighton slips to 2-16.J. Kayla Troutman contributed eight digs and an ace.The Olympians' Amanda Petrin recorded 10 digs, while Alexandria Ventrella (six kills) and Melissa Weber (five digs, three aces) also aided their team's cause.Jim Thorpe won the JV game, 30-28, 25-18.
