Children got the chance to look and play with real trucks during the West Penn Fire Company's Touch-A-Truck event held at their station to benefit the fire company.

Trucks varying from dump trucks, tractor trailers, farm tractors and ladder trucks were all part of the event.

West Penn firefighter Kelly Boerner, event organizer, stated, "The children really had fun riding on and experiencing these big trucks up close." She also stated her appreciation to all the businesses that donated the trucks for the event.

The event also consisted of a craft show and festive food. Trucks on hand were from the West Penn Fire Company, Tamaqua fire department, Penn Mahoning Ambulance, Ruchs Excavating, Gravers Tree Farm and Landscaping, Soley's Towing, Tamaqua Transfer and Recycling and more.

Penn Star helicopter also landed and took off during the event. In addition to all the large trucks, children received a visit from Smokey the Bear as part of National Fire Prevention month.
