A driver was cited following a one-vehicle crash that was reported on Saturday in Hamilton Township, Monroe County.

State police at Stroudsburg said Shareeq D. Elkerson, 25, of Albrightsville, was operating a 2011 Nissan Rogue southbound and approaching the merge point with Route 209. While negotiating a right curve, the Rogue continued straight off the left side, crossed the median, and entered the southbound lanes of Route 209. The Rogue continued across both lanes and went onto the berm on the left side of Route 209 and then entered a ditch. The front end of the Rogue struck the ground, then went across the ditch and southbound lanes of Route 209 coming to final rest along the right shoulder of Route 209.

Elkerson sustained a suspected minor injury and was taken by West End ambulance to the Lehigh Valle Hospital - Pocono, East Stroudsburg. Troopers cited Elkerson for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
