The Jim Thorpe Halloween Parade is Sunday, Oct. 30 at 4 p.m. It will proceed from Jim Thorpe Area High School, down Center Street to Ninth Street and onto North Street. The parade will end at Second and Center streets. Complimentary buses will shuttle participants back to Memorial Hall for free refreshments and awards.
Everyone in the community is invited to march in the parade. Have fun with your groups and organizations, build a float or march in uniforms.

Tire pickup in the borough will be held at Memorial Park, on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 8 a.m. to noon. All tires must be off the rims and those dropping tires off, must show ID of Jim Thorpe residency.
Fire company meeting
Members of the Phoenix Hose Co., will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. at the headquarters. Nomination of officers will take place during the meeting.
The next free community supper at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Race Street, will be held on Sunday, Oct. 23, from 4-6 p.m. The menu this month is pork and sauerkraut.
Democrats to meet
The Jim Thorpe Area Democratic Association will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. in the Inn of Jim Thorpe.
Edith Lukasevich, president, will be in charge of the meeting.
