A Monroe County man has been arrested for a hit- and-run incident that occurred at the Country Inn Suites in Carbon County Monday morning.

State Police at Lehighton responded at about 9:15 a.m. to a report of a hit and run crash at the Country Inn Suites along State Route 209 in Franklin Township.After further investigation, the Country Inn Suites staff informed Lehighton State Police that there was possible drug activity in one of their rooms.A warrant was obtained, and Michael Vereen, 30, of Gilbert, was then taken into custody for an Act 64 violation. Narcotics and cash were seized.Vereen was transported to State Police at Lehighton, where he was processed and released. Charges were filed in District Court 56-3-01.
