Over 30 second graders, their parents and teachers of the West Penn Elementary School spent time recently visiting the Tamaqua Public Library in preparation for their diorama project, which will each involve a "habitat" theme. All the diorama projects will also be published into a single book which will be available for sale by late March. Mrs. Vanessa Boyle, 2nd grade teacher, said she was proud of the many parents' involvement. Penny Gurksy, Tamaqua Librarian, pointed out the library's excitement of having the school utilize the library for a school function. Gursky added, "Our library always encourages community involvement and hope to involve other schools in activities at the library."Tom Bartasavage helps his daughter, Brittney, 7, research forest life for her diaroma project.
