Those with a little extra pep in their step are in luck.
A bevy of entertainment that will feature local talent is on tap at the Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company.
On Saturday, the B.C. Combo, a Lehigh Valley-based band, is scheduled to perform at the fire company.
The band came out of B.C and the Blues Crew, and plays a wide array of styles such as Blues, Americana, Folk, Country, Classic Rock, Beach, Soul, R&B and more.
They continue to play with the extraordinary talent in the Lehigh Valley at their host jams on Thursdays and invitational jams on Sundays.
Together, they have earned nearly every category of Lehigh Valley Music Awards in Blues and instrumentation over the years.
That's not all. Once a month, the fire company will hold a dance, with entertainment that will range from a sock hop featuring "Olde Friends", a Bowmanstown-based band, playing 50s, 60s and 70s; to "The Captives", a Palmerton-based band, on New Year's Eve, to "Rehab" and T-Bagg", a Lehighton-area band that plays classic rock.
Every third Friday there is a Dinner with Heinz, which features Heinz Rausch as chef. Heinz, who hails from Germany, offers dinners that feature real German faire, along with traditional American dishes, all moderately priced.
Breakfast is served the fourth Sunday of each month from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Carolyn Spairana, a member of the fire company's entertainment committee, said that in a small town such as Bowmanstown, the fire company "doesn't get much financial aide."
"These events are a way of helping to support the fire trucks and upkeep of the station and bringing affordable entertainment to the area," Spairana said. "Firefighters train hard and need all the financial help they can get."
Spairana said to watch the TIMES NEWS advertisements for future events, or visit www.bowmanstownfire.com. The fire company is also on Facebook.
