Dr. Lauren E. Romano and Kenneth R. Houser exchange vows

Dr. Lauren E. Romano, daughter of Christopher and Donna Romano of Pottsville, and Kenneth R. Houser, son of Kenneth and Sheree Houser of Ringtown, were united in marriage on Sept. 3, 2011 in Lancaster, Pa. The Rev. Darcy Reis officiated the double ring ceremony. Michael Mekailek was the vocalist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose Jennifer Buehler of Pottsville as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Dr. Erica Richardson, Annapolis, Md.; Nicole Ling, Carlisle, Pa.; Dr. Jillian Kline, Camp Hill, Pa.; and Heather Pavelko, Pottsville.Timothy Garrett Jr., Lancaster, was the best man. Ushers included Cory Houser, Ringtown; Nicholas Romano, Pottsville; Robert Orth, Camp Hill; and Shaun Kreider, Lancaster.The couple greeted family and friends at a reception at Riverdale Manor in Lancaster, followed by a wedding trip to St. Lucia.Dr. Houser is a 2004 graduate of Pottsville Area High School, and a 2008 graduate of Lebanon Valley College, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in health science. In 2010 she earned a doctorate in physical therapy.She is employed as a physical therapist at Physical Therapy Associates of Manheim.The bride is the granddaughter of Ruth Smulligan, Tamaqua, and the late James Smulligan; and Diane and Angelo Romano of Mt. Holly Springs, Pa.Mr. Houser is a 2004 graduate of North Schuylkill Jr./Sr. High School and a 2008 graduate of Lebanon Valley College, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry.He is currently a graduate student at Pennsylvania State University, where he is working toward a master's degree in chemical biology.The newlyweds reside in Lebanon, Pa.
