Board of Health
The November meeting of the Tamaqua Board of Health was held at the municipal building with James Gormley, Earl Boettger, Shirley Becker and Health Enforcement Officer James Barron in attendance.
Barron reported making five spot check inspections: SS. Peter and Paul kitchen; St. Jerome's kitchen; La Dolce Casa; Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church ; and the Citizen's Fire Company. He also received and adjusted seven complaints: three concerning trash/rubbish; two no heat; one strong odor complaint; and one possible infestation. There were no cases of reportable diseases.
The board meets the first Tuesday of each month, at 11:30 a.m., in the Tamaqua Municipal Building.
Rev. Thomas Reinsel, interim pastor, will officiate at the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday in Trinity United of Church of Christ. Sunday school classes will meet at 8:45 a.m. Choir rehearsal is held Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Upcoming events include an election day dinner on Nov. 8; benefit dinner for the family of Kimberly Mateyak Griffiths on Nov. 15, 6 p.m. at La Dolce Casa; Anthracite Philharmonic Orchestra concert on Dec. 10.
Trinity will celebrate its golden anniversary on Nov. 13 with a service of rededication at 10 a.m., followed by a fellowship coffee and memorabilia display in Founder's Hall.

The Rev. James Cavallero will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in First United Methodist Church. The service will include Holy Communion and a tribute to veterans. Activities for next week will include: Tuesday, quilters meet at 9:30 a.m.; Wednesday, Chancel Choir practice at 7:30 p.m.

Upcoming events will include a free practical estate seminar, presented by attorney Jeffrey Bowe on Nov. 20 and the Heidelberg Handbell Choir will present a concert on Dec. 9.
The Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church. Nursery care is provided.
Sunday school classes will be held at 9:30 a.m. Also on Sunday, Triad and Growth Group leaders will meet at 11:45 a.m. and a service will be held at 6 p.m. at the Tamaqua ABC High Rise.
Activities for next week will include: Wednesday, Prayer time at 8:30 a.m., Tamaqua Youth Ministry will meet at 6:30 p.m.; Thursday, Men's Fraternity will meet at 6:30 p.m.; Saturday, musician rehearsal at 9 a.m., Praise practice at 9:30 a.m., quilters will meet at 10:30 a.m. and TYM movie night will begin at 6 p.m.
A Traditional Worship service will be added to the Sunday schedule, beginning Nov. 13. The service will be held at 8 a.m. and will include favorite hymns. The Contemporary service will continue to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
