Senator David G. Argall (R-29) hosted 'Senator for a Day' with 11 local area high schools recently at the Lehigh Carbon Community College, Morgan Campus, in Tamaqua. The program allowed high school students to propose legislation, hold votes and debate issues critical to state government. The program provided students the opportunity to learn and experience the legislative process. Sen. Argall noted the importance of understanding the state's democratic process in approving legislation that impacts Pennsylvanians on a day-to-day basis. "I'm pleased to see a strong interest in state government with our local area high schools. This event is a great 'hands-on' workshop to educate the area's high school students on state government. I look forward to seeing our future decision makers in a real-life scenario discuss current affairs and issues." Among the schools participating were Blue Mountain, Lehighton Area, Marian Catholic, Tamaqua and others.
