Animals are coming

Animal Alley Ministries will be at Countryside Alliance Church, Route 115 and Countryside Drive, Brodheadsville, on Saturday, May 14 at 1 p.m. See and learn about animals such as sugar gliders, geckos, prairie dogs and more. Animal Alley uses these animals to teach character building lessons.

Rotary speaker

Ed Kmetz will be the speaker at the Thursday, May 12, West End Rotary Club's breakfast meeting. He is a Monroe County Commissioner candidate.

PV School Board

The Pleasant Valley School Board will meet at 8 p.m., Thursday, May 12, in the district offices in Brodheadsville.

Ministry Fair

Our Lady Queen of Peace church is holding a Ministry Fair to let the church family what is happening at the parish. The fair will be held in McCawley Hall after all Masses this Saturday and Sunday.

Church groups and organizations will be on display. There will be refreshments, handouts and fun for all.

Special Olympics

Pleasant Valley will host the area's Special Olympics on Tuesday, May 17, with the rain date being Wednesday, May 18.

Special visitor

Effort UMC will welcome a special speaker on Sunday, May 29. Bishop Peggy Johnson is coming to preach and to consecrate the church's spiritual garden.

There will be a combined service at 10:30 a.m. with a covered dish luncheon to follow.

Bishop Johnson leads the 900-church Eastern Pennsylvania and Peninsula-Delaware Annual Conferences.

Walk reminder

The county's Senior Fitness Walk will take place in Stroudbsurg, Wednesday, May 18, beginning at 9 a.m. with registration.
