Two-vehicle crash probed

State police at Frackville reported investigating a two-vehicle crash about 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, along SR61 at the intersection with Altamont Blvd., in West Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Julia Dougert, 81, of Ashland, was attempting to turn left from 61 southbound onto Altamont while Robert McNevich, 56, of Shenandoah, was northbound on 61. Troopers said the front of McNevich's 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee impacted with the passenger side of Dougert's 2007 Ford Focus.Troopers said Dougert was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC)-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, and a passenger with McNeivch, Raymond McNevich, 83, Shenandoah, was taken to SMC-E. Norwegian St., Pottsville, for treatment of what troopers said were minor injuries. Damages were moderate to the vehicles.Troopers said Dougert was cited for vehicle turning left.Troopers also investigated a crash abuot 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, along Interstate 81 in Forster Twonship. Troopers said Pauline M. Wagner, 63, of Manchester, York County, was driving a 2008 Hundai Entourage southbound when a deer entered the road in front of her. Her vehicle struck the deer causing disabling damages to the vehicle. Wagner and two passengers were not injured, troopers said.
