Through the efforts of a student teacher, Megan Wagner, arrangements were made to hold a fire safety program for afternoon kindergarten students at Panther Valley Elementary School. Wagner is observing since January at the school and is in her second year at Lehigh Carbon Community College and selected "Community Helpers" as her theme. She made fire prevention packets and name badges for the students. Helping Lt. Matthew Miller with the hose are students Connor Stefanick, Ethan Reisteter, Natalie Kerestes, Miller, Shoshana Gieniec, and Bradley Hood.
