Variety show proceeds will benefit Family Promise needy families

Family Promise Variety Show will feature some of the best local entertainment in the area. The variety show, produced by John Drury, will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 7.

Proceeds from the show will benefit Family Promise, a nonprofit organization that provides temporary shelter, meals and fellowship to meet the basic needs of families with children without permanent housing in Carbon County.For more information, call John Drury, at (570) 325-4436 or email

jdrury@ptd.net.Tickets will be available at the door.Approximately 15 talented local performers are in the line up. There will be singers, musicians, comedy, singing groups and instrumentalists appearing in the event.Several of the supporting local churches will be offering crafts, home made baked goods, and there will be an opportunity to receive a medical assessment. Massage therapy will also be available.Family Promise is sponsored by All Faiths Tabernacle, All Saint's Episcopal, Christ Lutheran Church, Dinkey Memorial, First UCC of Palmerton, People's EC Church, Lutheran Church, Mahoning; Sacred Heart, Trinity Lutheran, Zion UCC, Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran, St. Matthews and First Presbyterian.
