The operator of a tractor trailer escaped serious injury Monday morning after laying the rig on its side while attempting to exit Iinterstate 80 in Kidder Township, Carbon County. The accident occurred at 11 a.m. at the 277 mile marker eastbound exit for SR940 and the northeast extension of the turnpike. Fire crews were called to wash down a non-hazardous spill. State police at Fern Ridge are investigating the incident.
