Drivers dispute who caused crash

State police at Schuylkill Haven said two drivers involved in a crash at a Schuylkill County intersection have disputed who caused the crash. The accident was reported at the intersection of state routes 183 and 61 in North Manheim Township, on Tuesday, March 22.

Troopers said Jordon T. Barket, 24, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 1996 Jeep Cherokee northbound and traveling through the jug handle at that location, onto 183 when her vehicle struck the side of a 1991 Saturn sedan driven by Theresa M. Szilagyi, 31, of Branchdale, who was on 183 going through the intersection. Upon impact the Jeep rolled over and came to rest in the southbound lane. The Saturn came to rest at the point of impact.Damages were severe to the Jeep and moderate to the Saturn.Troopers said both drivers claimed to have had the green light. Trooper Thomas Hornung asked anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call him at (570) 593-2000.
