They call it puppy love for a reason.
All it takes is one visit to Pupster's Pub & Grub to see why patrons become attached to its cozy confines.
Located at 2815 Little Gap Road, Palmerton, the business will hold its grand opening on Saturday from 11 a.m. to closing.
There will be food and drink specials, as well as a DJ who will perform at 8 p.m.
Complete with a brand new, fully renovated kitchen and a new slate-top bar, the establishment is a must-see for patrons.
Formerly Linda's Country Gap Inne, the pub has been open since last month, said owners Damond and Carolee Pascoe.
"We'd like to thank Palmerton for being so nice," Damond said. "They've been very receptive, and we're very appreciative of that."
Carolee said the pub features a wide selection of homemade soups, chili, bisque, halupkis, haluskis, fettuccine, cheesesteaks, one-pound tacos, and apple pierogies.
Last, but certainly not least, the pub offers a special blend of hot and mild barbecued wings, as well as wings with its signature Pupster's sauce. There's also a wide assortment of draft beers.
Damond said all the meat used is 8-ounce hand formed Angus burger served in a Ciabatta bun.
"Our food is very big portions, so you're getting a lot of food for your money," Carolee said. "Our customers are leaving here on a positive note."
Carolee said the establishment is a family-oriented restaurant for people of all ages.
"One customer said they haven't been in this bar for a long time," she said. "So they're reintroducing themselves to it."
Damond said his business offers items that are "substantially lower" than that of its counterparts.
Karaoke is held every Thursday from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m, said Damond, who added that other evening-themed events such as acoustical bands are in the works.
"We're a laid-back type of bar," he said. "We're a bar where everyone is welcome."
Pupster's Pub & Grub is open 4-10 p.m. Monday; noon to midnight Tuesday and Wednesday; and noon to closing time Thursday through Sunday.
