Firefighters were kept busy Sunday as numerous brush fires were reported throughout the area, many of them started by careless burning which were fanned by brisk winds. Sunday afternoon the East Penn Fire Company battled a stubborn blaze which was climbing the north face of the Blue Mountain along the Bake Over Road. Firemen were assisted at the scene by members of the state Department of Forestry. Firefighters were on scene for an hour before bringing the fire under control.
