Members, guests and friends of the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce will have the opportunity to learn about the activities planned during this year's Schuylkill County Bicentennial Celebration at a breakfast planned for Wednesday, March 23. The event will take place in the community room of the ABC Tamaqua Hi-Rise beginning at 8 a.m.

Special guest for this event will be Mike McCord, chairman of the county's Bicentennial Committee.

The breakfast is one of several educational opportunities organized by the Tamaqua Chamber throughout the year. Each bi-monthly event provides a brief program on different topics, along with a catered breakfast.

"The 200th anniversary of Schuylkill County provides all of us a chance to show our coal region pride by participating in the many events that the Bicentennial Committee has planned for this year," said Linda Yulanavage, the chamber's executive director. "We have a lot to celebrate in every community throughout the county."

This month's breakfast will be catered by chamber member A&C Catering of Mahanoy City.

In addition to learning about the county's Bicentennial plans, attendees will have an opportunity to win one of the limited edition Bicentennial baskets.
